ABOUT ME !

this is me !!!

Hi ! Welcome to my blog >.<

My name is Nur Raihana Balqis and I am currently a student at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia as known as UKM. I was born on June 17th, 2005 at Hospital Sungai Buloh, Selangor. I am the only child in my family, which has given me a unique upbringing and a close bond with my parents. My primary school was SK Hamzah (2) and my secondary school was SMKA Wataniah, Machang, Kelantan. Recently, I just finished my studies at Kolej Matrikulasi Kelantan in accounting course. I am a coffee addict and my comfort food is 'Ayam Gepuk' ๐Ÿ˜‹ Nice to meet you ! ❤

And these are my parents ! The one who I love the most in this beautiful world. My father is a seller and same goes to my mother. My father is Indonesian and he comes from West Sumatra, Indonesia. He is the most hardworking person I have ever met in my life. He always asks me if I have enough money to use in university. He is also the strongest person I know and never fails to make me smile. My mother is from Kelantan, a state that is rich in culture and traditions. My mother is a very caring person and always cares about me and our family. One thing I love the most about my mother is her cooking. I have never met someone that can beat my mother's food. Sadly, I can no longer taste the food that my mother cooks for me because she is no longer here in this world with me and my father. ๐Ÿ’“

My hometown was located in the middle of Kelantan state. It is called Machang city. Machang is a small and peaceful town surrounded by nature. It may not be as busy as the big cities, but that's what makes it special. The sense of community here is strong, with everyone knowing each other and offering help. I love the local food, especially Kelantanese dishes like nasi kerabu. Machang may not be famous, but it’s where I’ve made unforgettable memories, and no matter where I go, it will always feel like home.

UKM

As you know, I am currently a student at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). I am 100% sure that every one of us have for at least one favourite place at their university. Here, I will tell you about my three favourite places in UKM.

PUSANIKA

My first favorite place in UKM is PUSANIKA. What I  really love about PUSANIKA is on the first floor, there  are a lot of food shops. For example, ZUS Coffee,  emart24, Tealive and more. PUSANIKA also have a famous mee tarik shop among the students called HOT MEAL BAR. The food is really mouthwatering and you should try it if you haven't try it yet ! Other than F&B, it also have a gaming center called UKM Esports Arena. I can release my stress by playing game here with my friends.

PTSL
Secondly is Perpustakaan Tun Seri Lanang or PTSL. PTSL is the only library in UKM. This is where I can borrow some books about my course. I can also do some revision here in case I do not want to study in my room. I can also do a group discussion with my friends here about the group assignment. It is easier to find the references here. One more thing, in PTSL it also have Switch Store. If I want to buy Apple's products, I can come at PTSL and also I will also get the student discount.

me and my friends at DECTAR ๐Ÿ˜
The last one is DECTAR (Dewan Canselor Tun Abdul Razak). DECTAR is one of the most iconic facilities in UKM. It is known for hosting large-scale events such as graduations ceremony, seminar, faculty gathering and much more. Concerts, talent shows and club performances also will be held here. The grand hall has a spacious and well-equipped interior, making it an ideal venue for both formal academic ceremonies and cultural events. DECTAR also is a hub where students, faculty, and alumni come together to celebrate and learn.

FACILITIES IN FEP

At UKM, there are 14 faculties including the faculty at Kuala Lumpur campus. For example, Faculty Economics and Management or Fakulti Ekonomi dan Pengurusan as known as FEP.  Most of my classes will be held at FEP because I am a Bachelor of Business Administration with Honors student. The reasons I am proud to be a FEP student is because of the facilities provided at the faculty. ๐Ÿ’—

COFY COFFEE

One of the facilities at FEP is Cofy Coffee. It is a coffee shop that sell various types of coffee. As a coffee enthusiast, I really enjoy buying the coffee here especially the Americano coffee. The coffee taste is really strong and that is why I enjoy buying it. The price range is also affordable and student-friendly. Other than coffee, this shop also sells a numerous types of pastries like cakes and bread. The bread is really soft and have a sweet taste. If I ran out of time to eat breakfast, I will buy my breakfast here.

SURAU FEP

Next, FEP also provided a cozy and spacious prayer room for Muslim students and lecturers. I always perform my prayer here in case I do not have enough time to pray at my college because my college is far from the faculty. In this prayer room, it also provided a Telekung or prayer cloth for us to wear so that I do not have to bring it on my own. Other than that, I can also take some rest here if I have a gap between my classes on that day.

FEP LECTURE HALL

Last but not least, FEP also has lecture halls where my classes are held. There are four spacious lecture halls at FEP, each designed to accommodate a large number of students. These lecture halls can fit up to a hundred students, making them ideal for both small and large classes. The halls are equipped with modern air conditioning, which ensures a comfortable learning environment, especially during hot weather. The cooling system makes it easier for students to stay focused and engaged throughout the lecture. In addition to being used for regular classes, these lecture halls also serve as venues for various faculty events, such as seminars, workshops, and guest talks. It's a versatile space that plays a key role in the academic and extracurricular activities at FEP.

MY HOBBIES

One of my favorite things to do during my leisure time is watching Korean dramas, or Kdramas. I really enjoy them because their storylines are often unique compared to other dramas. The genre I love the most is thriller. Recently, I finished watching a drama titled The Judge From Hell. Watching the drama gave me such an intense thrill, and I often found myself unable to wait for the next episode. Haha, that’s exactly how I feel when watching thriller Kdramas! I usually watch dramas on platforms like Netflix, Loklok, or Telegram. One benefit of watching Kdramas is that I get to learn Korean for free, which is exciting and educational at the same time.

Apart from watching Kdramas, I also love going to karaoke with my beloved friends. We sing various types of music genres, including ballads and hip-hop. We often go to SEVEN SEAS KARAOKE at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya. One of the reasons we love going there is because they offer a student discount where we only have to pay RM 10.00 for two hours! It’s definitely worth every penny. Here, I’ve included a video of us singing at karaoke (please ignore our voices ๐Ÿ˜‚).

THIS IS THE PLACE ! ๐Ÿ™Š

Lastly, I really love to go for bundle thrifting at the bundle store. One of the reasons I love doing that is I can get a high quality branded clothes and shoes with affordable prices. I usually buy my sweatshirts there. I usually go to JBR Bundle which is located at EVO Mall, Bangi. At the bundle store, I have found some really stylish and cozy sweatshirts that I wouldn’t have been able to afford at regular retail prices. Thrifting not only allows me to score great deals but also helps me be more sustainable in my fashion choices, giving clothes a second life.

THE FEELS

Becoming an FEP student has been my dream since I was in secondary school. The journey to become one of the students at FEP UKM was really challenging and tough journey but I managed to make it. The moment that I got the results to get into UKM with Business Administration course, I was so delighted because it was my first choice in UPU.

At first, I was both excited and nervous about stepping into the university life. A lot of people told me that university life is so different than high school and matriculation life. However, with the support from my family and friends, I can face it. One of the best thing becoming FEP students is the bond we create with each other. I have made a lot of new friends from different races, background and age.

Looking back from where I came from, I would say that I am proud of myself because I can pursue my study in degree. I’m excited for what the future holds and the opportunities to continue learning and growing in this vibrant environment.
